Basic Stringing: Are you a beginner & interested in necklaces or bracelets? Then this is the class for you. In this class students will create a necklace (up to 20”) or a bracelet to suit their own individual sense of style. Each student will pick their own beads from our classroom stash of over 35 different types of semi-precious gemstone, freshwater pearl, & Swarovski crystal beads as well as silver findings to make a truly unique creation. Students will be taught how to use a bead board, crimp tubes, & crimp pliers. Crimping instructions with color photography included. All tools provided for class use. Class fee $45. ($40 if registered by 3/1) Materials fee $25  Pre-registration required.

Purely Charming - Fine Silver Charms:
This is a project class where the students will use metal clay to make their own individual .999 fine silver charms. After the charms are complete, each student will then be able to choose a clasp & chain to finish their 1 of a kind bracelet. Basic or beginner techniques will be taught - cutting, shaping, & finishing. Depending on size, approx. 5 - 7 individual charms can be made. All tools provided for class use. Students will learn to torch fire their charms but most projects will be kiln fired by the instructor and will not be ready until the Wednesday after class. Class will have a half-hour break. Class fee $110. ($100 if registered by 2/28)

Earring Extravaganza! Are earrings a special passion of yours? Then come join us for this project class that is all about earrings. After learning the basics, we will delve into using those skills in several different ways to create approximately 5 - 8 pairs of earrings. The earrings will include 1 pair of each of the following: chain maille, long cluster, earrings with silver dangles, chandelier earrings, and mixed metal earrings made from larger hammered rings. Time allowing, each student will also be able to make a pairs of basic bead earrings, short cluster, and/or earrings with bead dangles. We will be using a selection of Swarovski Crystal, Semi-Precious Gemstone beads, freshwater cultured pearls as well as chain, metal links, chain maille rings and silver plated findings. In addition to learning the earring basics, students will also how to use the different pliers in a basic jeweler's kit as well as what each pair is used for. All tools provided for class use. Class fee $85. ($75 if registered by 3/29) Materials fee $35. Pre-registration required.

Riveting Connections In this class you will learn the art of cold connections or more specifically riveting. We will be joining pre-fabricated metal pieces together using rivets to form your choice of earrings, pendants or bracelets (pre-made jewelry kits will be available or you can create your own design). Students will learn to use a riveting hammer to form form rivets in the traditional jeweler's style as well as how to use the newer commercially made rivets. We we also discuss the pros and cons of both types. All tools provided for class use. Class will have a half-hour break. Class fee $85. ($75 if by 4/12) Materials Fees: $10 - $33 Pre-registration required. Class ending time is approximate – Depending on the jewelry you choose to make, you may finish earlier.

Chainmaille Stretch That's right, we will be making a chain maille bracelet that stretches. We will be doing a 6 in 1 weave using Aluminum rings which not only do not tarnish, they are very light and easy to keep clean. The stretch part comes from the rubber rings that will also be used. Students will have their choice of 2 different sizes (more delicate vs heavy) using bright aluminum (looks very much like sterling silver), anodized aluminum (colored), or a mixture of 2 ring colors + the rubber rings to create their bracelet. All tools provided for class use. Class will have 1 half-hour break. This is not a beginner's weave, previous chainmaille experience suggested. Class fee $85. ($75 if registered by 4/19) Materials fee $12 - $27 Materials fee dependent on ring choices. Pre-registration required.

Bold Bead & Chain Necklace Join us to make a beautiful, 24” - 36” asymmetrical necklace where the chain is as important as the beads. Students will use silver or gold chain & wire, semi-precious gemstone beads, and lead free pewter links & toggles (made in the USA) to make a truly unique and one-of-a-kind necklace. Class fee $45. ($40 if registered by 4/26) Materials fee $35. Pre-registration required. Project Class Only.

Saturday – May 11, 2013 11-2pm



String It! A more comprehensive class where students will create 2 necklaces (up to 20”) or 1 necklace and 1 bracelet (student's choice), and pair of earrings. Materials including: Semi-Precious Gemstone beads, Pearls, Swarovski Crystal, and silver findings. Students will be taught knotting for an “illusion” necklace, how to make closed loops for earrings, how to use a bead board, crimp beads & crimp pliers, headpins, and extender/safety chain. Other stringing/finishing methods and materials will be discussed. All tools provided for class use. Class will have 1 half-hour break. Class fee $85. ($75 if registered by 5/3) Materials fee $35. Pre-registration required.

Metal Clay Mania
Come join in the fun and learn to make your very own one-of-a-kind jewelry out of pure silver in clay form! After firing you finished work will be 99.9% pure silver. This is a class for beginners and those who have worked with metal clay before. The first project will be a basic pendant or earrings for all skill levels, the second will be a pendant with a faceted stone set and fired in the clay. Just some of the techniques covered will be repairs, coil rolling, texturing, joining, stone setting, and polishing. We will also discuss different firing methods, times & temperatures, adding patinas, different bail types, and the uses for the different metal clays on the market. Students also have the option of having their finished work fired in the kiln at the shop for a year after the class as well as studio time (must be arranged in advance & take place during store hours). All tools provided for class use. The 1st  project will be torch fired by the student. The 2nd will be kiln fired by the instructor and will not be ready until the Wednesday after the class. There will be a 45 min. lunch break. Class Fee $150. ($140 if registered by 5/16 Registration closes May 22, 2013 Materials $70. Pre-registration required. (class may run over)

Class Terms & Policies:

- 50% non-refundable deposit of class fee due at time of registration. Remainder due before the start of class.
- Classes are geared towards adults - age 16 & older.
- Classes will be limited to 6 people, please register early!
- No outside materials allowed.
- Many jewelry parts are very small, please bring appropriate eyewear (magnification) with you if needed.
- Classes will begin promptly at stated start time.
Please arrive approx. 5-10 minutes before class start. The doors are unlocked 20 minutes before the scheduled start time unless otherwise noted.

- As many of our classes are held on Sunday, when we are not open to the public, the doors are locked before we go into the classroom. If you are 10 minutes or more late there will be no admittance to the class (because we won't hear you) & your deposit will be forfeit.
- Please do not bring guests or children to your class. We do not offer childcare services nor is there anywhere for someone to "just hang-out" in.
- For the comfort & enjoyment of all (many people are chemically sensitive), we require that no perfumes, oils or scented soaps, lotions, hairsprays and/or powders be used by anyone attending a class or workshop. You will be asked to leave and your deposit will be forfeit.
